This is the time of year when we start looking forward to the upcoming skiing and snowboard season. The air is a little chillier and the leaves are turning colors. This is also a great time to get the latest in new equipment and apparel. The latest gear to lets us glide down the slopes, as well as staying warm and toasty.

When you think about vacationing in Park City, of course, there will be some snow sports involved. Skiing and snowboarding options are boundless, with the area resorts boasting a combined 9,326 acres of “The Greatest Snow on Earth”! The resorts feature 426 runs, bowls and parks, all served by 58 lifts.

Have a “howling good time” at Halloween in Park City! There are lots of activities and events for everyone of any age. Howl-O-Ween! On Main Street A local favorite is the Howl-O-Ween! On Main Street. You’ll find trick or treating for the kids along with the famous Park City Dog Parade that goes down Historic Main Street.

If you are film enthusiasts, you will definitely want to check out the Park City Film Series. This program offers screenings of current independent films, including some featured at Sundance. The films are presented at the Jim Santy Auditorium for a uniquely intimate film viewing experience. Right now, the films are being show at a temporary location (through February 1, 2015) at the Prospector Lodge and Conference Center, located at 2175 Sidewinder Drive.

If you’re looking for the perfect family adventure near Park City, UT there is plenty to do year round. However, few adventures are as fun or as memorable as a whitewater river rafting trip together on a guided rafting tour. There are a couple of main rivers just outside of Park City including the Weber River which is a little bit more intense and advanced (a level II to III) and the Provo River which is great for almost all ages. Both of these rivers provide rafters with beautiful views and the chance to see nearby wildlife while enjoying white waters, rapids and nearby mountains, historic railroads and old bridges.

Each month, on the last Friday of each month, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., gallery members of the Park City Gallery Association host a showcase that highlights artists, special exhibits, and art events — all for the public’s enjoyment. A free event, the Park City Gallery Stroll provides both locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments, while visiting local galleries that present Park City’s exciting art scene.

If you’ve been to Park City but not experienced all that the Olympic Park has to offer, you’ve been missing out on some serious fun. Utah Olympic Park is not only worth the visit because it’s the area where many of the world’s very best winter athletes gathered to compete for their country in the 2002 Winter Olympics, it’s also a place with unique family activities for all ages and activity levels. Though Park City is often most known as being a ski town that comes to life in the winter, the summer and fall are great times to come to the Olympic Park and participate in the various sports, games and events that are available.

When looking for a new adventure in Park City, why not consider an exciting horseback ride? When you go on a ride through the local area, you’ll be riding on some of the most beautiful trails that will take you into forest areas, past lovely lakes — all with a gorgeous mountain backdrop. You may even be able to see some local wildlife such as deer, elk, and moose.

Hiking and biking in the fall are some of the best ways to enjoy the season as the leaves change and the temperatures cool down. Park City, Utah is one of the most beautiful spots in the state of Utah for enjoying the fall foliage whether you’re an advanced hiker looking for a challenge high up on the mountain top or for families wanting to enjoy nature together while appreciating the season. With so many trails available, just about anyone can better appreciate the beauty that Park City has to offer just before the snow falls for the upcoming ski season.

Fall is fast approaching and before long the leaves on the trees will be turning from green to orange and red and yellow. Before they quickly turn to brown in the blink of an eye, be sure to catch some of the most beautiful leaves that Utah has to offer. Utah has always been known as a state full of great outdoor beauty and outdoor adventure and autumn is no different with the mountains full of changing maple and aspen leaves.
